Why Re-invent the Wheel?
I was told a cute story that stuck like glue, and i often refer back to it from time to time……….
There was this newly married young women who was entertaining at her house for the first time. Her mother and grandmother were in the kitchen while she was preparing the roast. The young woman took the roast and cut off each end and placed it in the roasting pan. The grandmother asked her granddaughter why she would do something like that? The young women looked at her puzzled. Meanwhile the young woman’s mother said to her mother, “Mom you always did that”. Grandma replied, “That’s because the pan was always to small”.
We do things in life, and do not know why we do them? Most of us are on automatic. Generations before us, handed down their tools to handle life’s challenges, some work and some are rusty and old. It is time for some new tools. You wouldn’t use a hammer to wire a lamp, would you?
The tools i talk about changed my life and others for ever and for the good. These tools also know as “distinctions” in many “Personal Effectiveness Training Seminars”, I pull out to handle life’s challenges. Sometimes I am not perfect, and resort to the old rusty ones, however the more and more you use the new tools, the more they become second nature. Why re-invent the wheel? Why go through life winging it? When there are Books, Coaches, Counselors, Strategists, Advisors with answers and solutions to all life has given you. By seeking answers and using the tools of successfull people all over the world, what are we doing for the future generations? The difference between us and them is them have passion like fire under their as%#$’s, undying faith and tools. Remember, “There is only one life you will live, that you will remember”.
